20 Prayer Points for Greatness 

For a believer, greatness simply means living like the god that you are. We were all created in the image and likeness of God. The same way animals only give birth to their kind, God recreated his kind in us. In case you do not know, you are a god because you were created by the almighty God. 

One of the characteristics of God, the creator is greatness. Greatness is not just what he does, greatness is who he is. As his children, we are carriers of greatness. Greatness is our identity. Greatness is our heritage. 

Having established that greatness should not be alien to a child of God, many children of God are living beneath their potential and their identities as carrier of greatness. How then can a person activate greatness?

Steps for flight to greatness

1. Accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour 
2. Live in obedience to the Holyspirit
3. Acknowledge God in all your ways
4. Live a purposefully for Christ 

Hindrances to Greatness 

Despite being created in God’s image and likeness, the following can stand as a hindrance to greatness in the life of a believer

1. Lack of Faith

 Hebrews 11:6 – “But without faith it is impossible to please Him…”A believer cannot attain or greatness if they do not fully trust in God’s promises.

2. Disobedience

1 Samuel 15:22–23 – “To obey is better than sacrifice…” Disobedience cost Saul his throne. Greatness in God’s eyes is tied to consistent obedience.

3. Pride

Proverbs 16:18 – “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” God resists the proud (James 4:6) and elevates the humble.

4. Sin and Unrepentance

 Isaiah 59:1–2 – “Your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear.”

Persistent sin blocks fellowship with God and limits His work in your life.

5. Fear

 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear…” Fear cripples vision, stalls obedience, and prevents bold steps toward destiny.

6. Laziness and Slothfulness

Proverbs 22:29 – “Do you see a man diligent in his work? He will stand before kings…”

Greatness requires diligence. Laziness prevents believers from growing in gifts and fulfilling potential.

7. Wrong Associations

1 Corinthians 15:33 – “Bad company corrupts good character.”

The wrong friendships can corrupt values, derail purpose, and delay destiny.

8. Unforgiveness

Matthew 6:14–15 – “If you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

A heart filled with offense and bitterness cannot grow into God-ordained greatness.

9. Lack of Vision

 Proverbs 29:18 – “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

A believer without a divine vision will drift aimlessly, missing opportunities for greatness.

10. Impatience

 Hebrews 6:12 – “Through faith and patience we inherit the promises.”

Impatience makes people abandon process and take shortcuts, which often leads to failure.

11. Ingratitude

 Romans 1:21 – “They did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful.”

Ingratitude closes doors to further blessings. God promotes those with grateful hearts.

12. Comparison and Envy

Galatians 5:26 – “Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”

Comparison steals joy and focus. Greatness comes from fulfilling your own unique calling.

13. Neglect of God’s Word

Joshua 1:8 – “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth… then you will have good success.”

Scripture is a roadmap to greatness. Ignoring it leads to spiritual stagnation.

14. Prayerlessness

 Luke 18:1 – “Men ought always to pray and not give up.”

Prayer keeps you in tune with God’s direction. A prayerless life is powerless and directionless.

15. Lack of Purpose and Identity in Christ 

1 Peter 2:9 – “You are a chosen generation… that you may proclaim the praises of Him.”

Believers who don’t know who they are in Christ cannot walk confidently into greatness

16. Double-Mindedness

 James 1:6–8 – “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

Indecision and spiritual inconsistency hinder growth and destiny fulfillment.

Prayers for greatness 

1. Thank you Lord the author, distributor and sustainer of greatness.
2. Thank you Lord for making me a partaker of your greatness by making me in your image and likeness
3. Lord please forgive me for all unrighteousness that has denied me access to greatness
4. Lord fire up my spiritual altar to birth and sustain greatness
5. Lord reveal your purpose for my life to me to launch me into greatness like you did for Abraham.
6. Turn me back on the journey to mediocrity lead me to the path of greatness
7. Retrieve my spiritual birthright from household powers and forces that deny men greatness and waste their lives. 
8. Oh Lord help me to endure any unpleasant season of life that is a precursor to my greatness 
9. Powers that abort greatness be destroyed in my life in Jesus name
10. Lineage limitations that attack greatness be destroyed in Jesus name 
11. Satanic embargoes that frustrate men on the road to greatness be lifted in Jesus name 
12. Oh Lord carry me on eagle’s wings to greatness in Jesus name.
13. My flight  to greatness shall not be delayed in Jesus name

15. Oh lord, shield me from Costly destiny errors that deny men their greatness in Jesus name 
16. I breakthrough the ceiling of smallness in my lineage in Jesus name.
17. Oh Lord connect me to men and women of all races who are instrumental to my greatness in Jesus name. 
18. Oh Lord Help me to always acknowledge you as my source of  greatness in Jesus name. 
19. Henceforth, I begin to enjoy divine leadership and direction  for greatness 
20. Thank you Lord for answering my prayers.
